Interim Sales Management

There are many reasons why a company may need an interim Salesperson. That person could be Sales representative, Sales director, Business Development manager or Account manager. There are many more role titles that interim may apply to. The reasons for an interim salesperson are even more varied.

A business located in our home state of WA may need someone because their regular person is on parental leave, long service leave, sick leave or other leave types. It could be the salesperson has left their role and a replacement or transfer from another state has been delayed. There may be financial considerations in hiring a full-time employee.

The reasons listed above can apply to a business located in one of the eastern states. However, there are often many more reasons to consider an Interim person. Start-up and breakdown of a business are two. Testing the potential or getting feedback from clients regularly serviced from other state could be other needs. It may be there are valuable clients in WA, but a person employed full time is not cost effective.

An interim manager can be for a day, a year, hours per week, onsite or even through our Sales management online service. Interim sales companies need to be flexible in positions, in availability, and in the types of services they offer. Russell Wilce consulting has had 15 years working in this way.

If 60% of buyers spend 60% of time researching online before getting in touch with a potential supplier, then face to face time is at a premium today and maybe ‘we are in your area next month’ will not win their patience.

Many local companies often feel more secure in knowing an organisation from another state has local people here on the ground, and you can only get that face to face. Mix it up so your Eastern stated representatives have to spend less time travelling and remember companies in WA can soon spot a suit from the East, as they like to say!
